Worldbuilding and new set game mechanic | Info and plotting post

Hello everyone!

During the last months, Peter has been working on a long-term project to bring electricity to the city. It started with him using the turbine of the broken wing of his ship to build an experimental Wind turbine with the help of Isha, Sora, Rhys and some other chars. As shown in his latest log, the Wind turbine is operative and giving enough electricity to power the basic systems of his ship.

This was the first step in building a Wind Farm. He had talked to the Gods and they gave Peter the ok to clear out more of the forest surrounding Asgard and start the Wind farm and generators there, as well as to enlist the help of the locals, and any of your chars who might want to participate in the final stages.

What does all this tl;DR mean? Construction and implementation of the wind farm will be completed in January and Asgard will have electricity, actual clean energy to work with instead of just using the city's magic and dealing with its limitations. And with that, comes the chance of creating new IC projects. Do you want to use it to power up your Roomba? A superweapon? A personal character's House? Do you want to build a snowman some sort of electric car? Add electric-power street lamps to the city? Now you can..sort of.

Asgard having electricity will be a set mechanic for as long as the wind turbines are functioning. If there are a lot of projects running at the same time, that could cause energy short cuts and bring up the need to expand the size of the wind farm. The successful output of the generators will depend on the usage of electricity so this information post also serves as plotting post for those ongoing projects your char might come up with.

For example, Peter will bring up the need for reliable transport in the city and suggest building some sort of streetcars/trackless trains. Maybe it's something they can talk about during the next War Council meeting. The trackless trains require building the trains themselves but not the tracks, so that would be one less issue. However, mechanics, as well as train drivers, would also be needed.

Anyway, he'll probably be suggesting getting the electricity to start his van and also his jukebox, so he can grace Asgard with loud rock music. WHO WANTS A ROCK PARTY?

Maybe like only hovering a few feet above the ground allowed—taller than the buildings to get it moved to a better spot and then it plops to the ground. IT COULD BE THE THING THAT BREAKS THE CAMEL'S BACK EVEN. Lesser extent: get his weapons back online, maaaaybe the lightsaber.

Finn is such a good, hard-working boy. ♥♥♥ And him and Peter can be frustrated together, not having the right tools to work with makes everything a pain in the ass.

Technology from the First Order who ruins things for everyone? Colour me surprised. Sounds like a fun plot! I left a note on the mod's plurk about this so they can give you the ok or not, since they are the one who need to decide what is possible for the chars to do with the electricity or no. Flying ships are a big thing C:

They can always adopt the "kick it until it works" method when they reach maximum frustration. Then...have the thrown thing bounce back and whack them in the heads and they can go crying to Gamora.

Of course! But it'll be something very far into the future as the mods now say below. But hey, weapons! :D

We've been in discussions about whether or not we'll allow smaller ships to fly again for many months now. Unfortunately, for this stage of the electricity being introduced, we'll probably continue to say it can't get airborne until the technology of the city is further developed. The main thing we've told Lylith in regards to getting the Benatar's escape pod operational again is finding a fuel source that's compatible with the tech level/magic energy of Yggdrasil. We told her this might be a future PC quest of sorts, which is something Finn would absolutely be welcome to get in on as well if/when the time comes.

For now, however, we'll say it can't quite get off the ground. With the new electricity source, Finn could get enough power to the TIE-fighter to turn it on and get some gears turning, but it'd futz out the moment he tries to get it airborne. The wind farm also isn't operating at super high capacity, so there's some potential for fun electrical interference you can play with for now as they try to get it back to fully functioning.

Nope, you're absolutely fine, guys! It was a spur of the moment thought and possibly something for you guys in the waaaaaaaaaaaaay future to "test" the strength of the field when it gets further along. Or something to possibly kick something else into action because of loss of power. Plot devices are always a good thing, right?

If anything when he gets it online he'll more than likely make sure the weapons system is offline, tracking system is offline, then try the communication unit!
