MOD POST: DECEMBER EVENT DESCRIPTION
![]() Hello hello, friends! It's Faith, back at it again with our new event post. December will have one longer event to combine with our intro log, so it's packed full of a lot of things to leave us free and open for the rest of the month. It is absolutely unbelievable to me that we've made it to six months of Asgard Genesis being open and that we'll be starting a new year together. I am eternally grateful to all of you that have given our game a chance, and I hope we can continue to make some good fun nonsense for you to enjoy! As usual, we have a handful of announcements before we can get into our upcoming events:
And that's what we've got for now! On to the more immediately fun stuff with December's events! ❧ december 8-13: as cold as ice.Despite the fact that the rain has not let up for weeks now, your characters wake up on December 8 to find a cheerful invitation to the castle grounds on their bracelets. New Wanderers have arrived, and as has become what one might call "the norm," the gods are hosting a party at the castle to welcome them into their kingdom. The invitation reads: Please join us today at Gladsheim Palace to give a warm welcome to more guests amongst us. Our king bears new tidings on your fate and fortune both. We would share this and more if it please you to gather on the castle grounds. As you make your way to the palace, you may notice that contrary to previous gatherings, the natives don't seem to be joining you and instead wave you along with bright smiles and curious eyes. Whatever this is, it appears to be intended for the Wanderers alone, which may raise questions about what news Odin has in store for you. There are festive tents set up to offer protection from the rain as the party begins, with a handful of native Asgardian staff on hand to serve drinks and food. As the gods make their appearances and Odin steps up to begin what might be a speech - it's like every rain droplet becomes a heavy snowflake, turning the weather from a downpour to a blizzard instantaneously. The air turns ice cold and the snow whips around dangerously, stinging the skin and strangely aching in your chest. Visibility drops to scarcely a few feet ahead of you through the endless sheets of icy snow, and Odin sighs before beckoning everyone into the castle to take refuge from the storm. After this point, there are some important things to take note of:
Once everyone has been corralled into the castle, Odin will finally deliver his news to the Wanderers. Apologies for dumping another bullet point list on you again, but there will be an NPC post on the 8th with the full speech so we'll cover the important bits here:
For the purposes of December's event, the most important takeaway from Odin's speech will be the part about trying to retrieve items from your world. This will be our very first gift from home event! On the evening of December 8, your character will be able to request one item from Odin or their god in specific. This can be nearly anything within reason: a personal belonging, a pet, a weapon, etc. They cannot request anything overly large, so it can't be like a house or a spaceship, and your character must have seen or held it themselves in order to request it. Odin's speech will be posted to the network so characters that didn't venture to the castle before the storm began will still be able to request a gift, but the post will appear scrambled with interference and their request might take a bit longer to reach the gods. All requests are subject to mod approval and must be submitted on this thread by December 31. After this, however, you're largely left to just… wait out the storm, in whatever way you can. On the morning of December 10, the maids are excited to deliver news of a celebration later that evening, and they'd like to provide formalwear for the occasion. Your character can request something specific or something can be delivered to their room; this is a cheap excuse to put the barbies in pretty outfits because the Asgardian natives are throwing a winter ball! They invite the Wanderers to dance and drink to celebrate winter and urge the sun to return quickly. There is a massive feast plied with various kinds of alcohol alongside music that varies from classic ballroom to brightly dancy to more traditional songs. While the main festivities all take place in the grand ballroom, those keen for such a thing might be invited to another ballroom on the other side of the castle where a very tasteful animal sacrifice is taking place. This room is darkly lit with torches and candles, and the guests are still wearing all their finery as they pass around goblets of blood to drink or shower each other in. Two starkly different celebrations that are nonetheless equally jovial, and the party lasts all throughout the night and into the next morning. Early December 11, while many are still lost in drunken revelry, a different sort of chill starts creeping into the castle itself. The outer walls ooze cold into the air and any outward facing doors or windows become encased in ice. As people begin to investigate, they will find that anyone still partying is actually frozen in place, leaving half of the castle suspended in time as cheerful statuettes. For this part of the event, only those less influenced by the passage of time will be able to resist this new magic as the adults in the castle begin to slow to a stop. Characters under the age of 18 will be the only ones unaffected, leaving them largely to their own devices in search of a way to restart time. (There is, of course, also nothing to stop them from getting up to any mischief or nonsensery while the adults are incapacitated!) Our younger characters will have to explore the castle to figure out what they need to save the day. We'll be using another treasure map for this event! Here is a (not accurate but still fun) map of the castle; the gold star is your starting point, and the confetti is where the party is frozen in place. Please indicate which room on the map your character would like to explore, and we will tell you what they find! There are different pieces to this puzzle so your characters will have to work together; they can team up to search the castle or go around individually, but they'll need to bring the pieces together to solve it. To clarify, the steps for this will be:
For the sake of continuing the event, we'll say the kiddos are eventually successful, but exactly what this success looks like will be up to you guys to plot out. Feel free to do so on this thread below, where you'll also be submitting your maps! Please submit your maps by December 10. After time has been restored to its normal pace, party-goers and other elderly mortals will be confused to find that it is already evening again despite never quite seeing the morning. Surely it is sign enough that winter's hold is still firmly upon them - so they take to another night of worshipping the sun through warm meals and close affection as they dance the night away… again. On December 12, people stumble away from the party drained and weary, disgruntled to find that the storm still hasn't let up in any way. The day passes with nothing terribly exciting to do once more as everyone sits around waiting for the chance to go home. Should they continue partying? Kill another cow? Gods, but it all just sounds exhausting now. On December 13, having had quite enough of these mortals bellyaching around their castle, the gods ask Sigyn as the reigning deity of nature to do something about their less-than-dire but still-bothersome circumstances. Early in the morning, she can be seen stepping out in the storm only to be lost in the dark flurry. Hours later, there is a loud reverberation that echoes and rattles within the castle, and those that poke their heads outside will find that snow lingers but the worst of the storm has cleared. Everyone will be free to return to their homes at good, long last. ❧ december event summary.
And that'll wrap up December and 2019 for us! Also the end of a decade, friends, how fucking weird is that? We really can't thank you enough for being here with us, and we hope you have a wonderful winter season in whatever way you might celebrate it. As always, let us know if you have any questions/comments/concerns/dirty jokes in the comments section below or hit us up on the mod contact page! ![]() navigation. |

Character Name: Ye Zun (
Request: Ye Zun doesn't actually want anything from home outside of his brother which means that the gods are free to gift him with a life-sized replica of his stone prison because nothing says 'you really miss your brother' than a reminder of where you spent ten thousand years of your life waiting for the idiot to remember you. (Addon: life size = it looks about ten feet in the show but feel free to make it a little smaller)
